Shops are 3 miles along the road at Wiveliscombe where you can buy local produce. We also keep a few frozen items at reception. Calor gas is available on-site. Also on-site there’s an attractive studio where you can learn to paint or enjoy improving your skills. You’ll be inspired by glorious sunsets and the wildlife around the park. Friendly dogs are welcome at Waterrow; we have a lovely field for them to exercise you. The Rock Inn serves good food and fine Somerset beverages just a stagger from the site. We are pleased to offer you CaSSOA Gold accredited storage and to arrange cleaning or servicing so your caravan is ready in prime condition at any time you choose to visit. |

Whats on nearby You can walk or cycle around this lovely part of West Somerset, or take a bus trip from the park entrance. There are footpaths around Waterrow which join the ‘West Deane Way’ along the River Tone Valley. Fly-fishing for trout at Waterrow is for the expert, though there is good fishing for all at Exebridge, Shillingford, Wimbleball Reservoir, Oakford and Langford lakes, all of which are just a short drive. |

A scenic half-hour drive takes you to Dulverton; the gateway to Exmoor National Park, where livestock and ponies graze freely over 265 square miles of unspoiled heathland, woods and pretty river valleys. Popular places to visit are Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Lynton & Lynmouth, Valley of the Rocks and the Doone Valley. Step back in time on a West Somerset Railway train as it ambles the twenty miles to the picturesque port at Watchet and along the coast to Minehead. Tea rooms at the medieval castle town of Dunster are a popular stop along the journey. In addition to the castle, the town has a priory, dovecote, ancient yarn market, packhorse bridge and mill. If you are lover of gardens, National Trust properties and country homes, there are many to see in Somerset and nearby; Knightshayes Court, Hestercombe Gardens, Arlington Court, Killerton House, Cothay Manor and Gardens, East Lambrook Manor and Tintinhull. |

There are many more towns and resorts worth a visit. Bampton is just over the Devon ‘border’. It is in a conservation area and offers good local shopping, pubs and restaurants. Bampton’s October Charter Fair is famous for crafts and Exmoor pony trading. Somerset’s county town of Taunton will provide retail therapy. The South coast resorts at Sidmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis are a good day trip. Local recreational facilities include Golf at Oake Manor, outdoor swimming at Wiveliscombe and sports centres with indoor swimming at Wellington, Taunton and Tiverton. Whichever season you choose to visit, there will be something to delight you at our ‘garden in the valley’. |
