| The Old Oaks is an award winning, family run touring park offering five star amenities set in blissfully tranquil Somerset countryside with panoramic views of the Mendip hills and surrounding area. It is the perfect ‘get away from it all’ spot where you can enjoy walking, cycling, fishing and touring or simply relax and watch the abundant wildlife. Park Facilities Large, level, landscaped pitches are divided into 5 paddocks across 10 acres, each with their individual characteristics and views. Trees and shrub borders create space and privacy for you to unwind. You can choose a grass pitch, hardstanding with electric hook-up or serviced hardstanding with electric hook-up, water and waste water drain. Motorcaravans and RVs can use our motorhome waste disposal point. You don’t need to own a caravan or tent to enjoy our park; why not try a camping cabin? See this great idea on our website. |

The spotlessly clean, well-equipped amenity building is fully tiled and centrally heated. Enjoy lots of free hot water, a bathroom, spacious laundry, dishwashing area, freezers for your ice-packs and free use of a microwave. There is a full disabled suite with radar access and many thoughtful considerations for less able guests around the park. See our website. The convenience shop and off-license stocks groceries, our own free range eggs and home reared beef plus essential camping equipment. Oh, and there’s the daily Old Oaks cake selection. You’ll also find tourist information, a small book exchange and pool table. Broadband is free to use in reception and WIFI is available throughout the park. Guests receive 30 minutes free access per booking. |

The Old Oaks is ideal for walkers and we hire bicycles to for you explore further afield. You can join in a fishing competition and even win a free holiday at our on site course fishing pond which is well stocked with carp, roach and some tench. We are a dog friendly caravan site with an extensive exercise area and even a tiled shower for your best friend to keep clean and fresh during your stay. Our availability and booking system is always on line so you can arrange to come and stay with us at any time. |

Whats on nearby Close to mythical Glastonbury Tor, The Old Oaks is the perfect caravan and camping site to visit Somerset and the West Country. There is something for everyone whether walking, cycling or driving. 520ft above the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor gives the visitor fantastic views and a feel of the county’s historic trading and cultural crossroads. |

Entwined in Arthurian legend,Glastonbury Abbey was the grandest and richest in England and may be the king’s burial place. At the Forge of Avalon you can purchase your own Excalibur’ and learn how the weapons were made. Still in Glastonbury, legend holds that the Chalice of the Holy Grail was hidden in Chalice Well Gardens. You can find out more about Somerset life at Glastonbury Rural Life Museum. Since the 1830’s Clarks shoes were made in the neighbouring town of Street where you can visit their museum and retail outlet. A few miles away, Wells, the smallest city in England, nestles under the Mendip Hills with its magnificent Gothic cathedral, thriving markets and period buildings. Around the hills are spectacular gorges at Ebbor and Cheddar and the amazing underground caves of Cheddar and Wookey Hole. |

Many more attractions are about an half-hour drive; the lions at Longleat Safari Park,
Haynes Motor Museum, historic aircraft at The Fleet Air Arm Museum, an enchanting
ride to the coast on an West Somerset Railway steam train or a trip through the Mendip Hills on the East Somerset Railway. But then, there’s no need to go anywhere; you can walk the many footpaths around The Old Oaks, explore the diversity of habitats for bird-watching or try fishing the site pool. Somerset is for known for its fresh food and Somerset cider which you can sample at local pubs and eateries or visit a farm centre to see it being made. |

How to find us From the M5, junction 23. Follow A39 towards Glastonbury. From Glastonbury follow signs for Shepton Mallet (A361). After 1½ miles turn left at signpost for Wick. The Old Oaks is on your left in 1 mile. From Wells (A39) approaching Glastonbury. Follow signs for West Mendip Hospital. Take the next left after hospital. The Old Oaks is on your right in 1½miles. |
