Park Facilities Plough Lane welcomes touring caravans and motorhomes. We have fifty level pitches attractively set out over four acres of landscaped grounds easily accessed from Cotswold stone roads. All pitches are half hardstanding and half grass, and all have a 16amp hook-up. Twenty five of the pitches also have a fresh water tap and drain at the back of the pitch. Our heated facilities building is warm and bright, with spacious showers, individual washing cubicles, hair dryers and thoughtful, homely touches like hand cream and tissues. For less able guests there is an easily accessible, separate disabled shower and toilet room. |

Whats on nearby Plough Lane is very well situated to visit many interesting towns and villages. The site is well served by buses and it is possible to join the nearby cycleway without using a car. Within a few miles you can visit Chippenham, one of England’s oldest towns or Castle Combe and Lacock, two of England’s prettiest villages. The World Heritage City of Bath is ten miles, with a good ‘park and ride’ to let you enjoy the attractions of this open city. The Abbey, Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge and shopping malls are all within walking distance from the centre and you could take the spa waters. |

Bristol, maritime city, is also convenient with many attractions; Brunel’s dramatic Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Avon Gorge, Maritime Heritage Centre and SS Great Britain. After a city visit it is nice to relax back into the country. Try the market town of Devizes and a stroll along the Avon & Kennet canal to the amazing Caen Hill flight of 16 locks. For prehistoric interest, North Wiltshire offers serious competition to the more famous stone circle at Stonehenge. We don’t want to deter anyone from a pleasant hour’s drive to Salisbury Plain but there are as many mysteries to be seen close to Plough Lane. The Avebury stone circles are regarded as one of the most important prehistoric monuments in England while Silbury Hill and the crop circles are still baffling the experts! |
